This adventure game takes place in Italy, and gives you a unique perspective into the life of a good-for-nothing guy who returns to his home town to his mama after not achieving much in life. It has a simple and intuitive user interface, catchy music and good humor, which reminded me of old classics like Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle. It shows that you don't need a huge studio to create a good game.

About This Game

Peppe: Now that we shared so many memories, how about a little kiss?
Secretary: Nice try. But you need to go now before I regret helping you!
This is Peppe making is way through Italian politics. Later he will try and repay his boss’s secretary with "bunga bunga" services.
He is:
•Lazy
•A hood
•A Mama’s boy
•Pretty dumb
•A loser.
His goals:
•Does he want to save the world from the Martians?
Well, no. He is for peace, man. And interstellar wars are way too dangerous.
•Perhaps he prefers rescuing a damsel from a gorilla?
No. That sounds like a lot of work.
•Really sure that he doesn't want to rescue a beautiful damsel with long, blinking, eyelashes?
Definitely not. Gorillas tend to get annoyed when you do that. And she's probably a pain in the ass.
•Then, maybe, he will help the dark side of the Force to prevail?
Neither. He can't breathe that hard. Not even on the phone.
All in all, he just wants to please his mama.
Will he eventually please her? Will he be successful? Will he prove he is not just a bum, full of promises but weak in character as Mama says all the time?
Well... that, my friend, kind of depends on you.
Born in the twisted mind of the Fazz Brothers, Belpaese: Homecoming is the first chapter of an old style, irony-oriented, trick-driven, Point & Click Graphic Adventure.
If you:
•Are one of these old CGA geeks mourning the golden era of videogames.
•Think of yourself as a brilliant example of the sparkling new generation of problem solvers (how cheeky).
•Are not scared by lateral thinking, actually excited about parading your imagination and your ability to live through tough times.
If all the above points, or even just one of them, applies to you, then, my travel companion, this is your game.
Have a Great Adventure!
Vote for Peppe!

I really enjoyed playing this game. The protagonist is pretty likable and the story was well crafted and very funny. Following the story and dialog is all you need to do to solve the puzzles, which is fun because the story and dialog are great. I can't wait for the continuation of the story in the sequel!!!
Very, very annoying point n' click. The reasons: - Pixel hunting. Minuscule objects are essential to your progression. - (of course, no hot spots key.) - Timed pixel hunting. Some minuscule objects are only there intermittently. Yep, keep your eyes more peeled than that. - Also, you'll need to time your grabs. Devs got confused with the point n' clock genre. - More scene transitions, back and forth, than humanly tolerable. - (of course, no fast movement key.) - Many mandatory day/night changes, all triggered from a unique location, and not a central one. - (of course, with unskippable wait.) - Expected actions are commonly nonsensical. Simply put, you'll spend 72% of your game time waiting for your character instead of actually playing. One particularly terrible "puzzle" requires you to perform the exact same action 3 times, but on different nights. In effect, a basic repeat but slowly moving back and forth between 3 scenes and waiting 6 times for a sleeping transition. My jaw still ...
It's okay to kill time, but I was expecting a bit more. At least the game is funny.
Belpaese : Homecoming is more a thumbs in the middle opposed to a clear dislike. The game takes a less is more approach. It’s linear and fairly simple and because of that puzzles never really suffer from point and click brain worms. However, the game’s humor didn’t really land for me and overall it didn’t really leave a lasting impression. Still the game is inexpensive so if you love classic point and click adventure I would still recommend it.
