You basically go from location to location investigating paranormal activity and attempting to detect otherworldly anomalies by measuring infrared, temperature, electromagnetic fields, and more. It's fun to locate different types of ghosts and figure out which tools you need to use to see them. As the game is (at the time of writing this) in early access, I'm hopeful that the gameplay will be expanded. Right now the UI is rough and a little large for the gameplay area and objectives are simple: find the ghosts, and then you can move on. I'd love to see further objectives beyond that. Locations are diverse but sparse, ranging from restaurants to retail locations (and an abandoned mine). This is so cool. Simple premise. Explore supposedly haunted places with Ghost-Hunting tech. Spoilers There are actua; ghosts. How boring would this be if there weren't? Excellent Game by and Excellent Developer. The Spook Inspectors Rock!!! I bought this game awhile back ago and my gameplay with it was not that great. Not on the games part but being my laptop was not functioning properly at the time. I Recently played again tonight since I have a new rig and this game is great. I enjoy paranormal games and this one for being the hunter ranks at the top. I made a video of my first gameplay this time and I will continue to make a few more. I hope more places get added and also eventually that we are able to open up the doors everywhere.

I bought this game after being very disappointed in Phasmophobia and how it has started to disappear up its own hat, increasing tediousness and difficulty in attempts to become a real life ghost hunting simulator. The Spook Inspectors has the right amount of promise. It has humour from the start, the mechanics feels on point and the general premise is what you would hope for. Now all they need to do is build the story, the campaign, the progression mechanics, put in some variety, make the progression less monotonous and overall spice the game up - but that is what Early Access is all about :) EDIT: last update was in 2019, so this might be as far as the game goes. I should have checked before getting the game, really!

Wow, this is a very pleasant surprise for something so cheap. I've actually done this type of stuff. And I've also spent time as a night security guard in a couple of creepy places - one of which was an abandoned prison which was haunted. And this game brings across the impression of both scenarios pretty well. The dubious backstories that you're investigating. The amateur level of both you and the other people who are doing this. The feeling of being by yourself in a creepy place at night and that sense that something MIGHT be going on near you, but it might not be. You come to like that feeling, well I did anyway. And playing this makes me miss that time of my life TBH. The Spook Inspectors doesn't make you over the top terrified like most horror games. It makes you feel uneasy. And to someone who has been there I can tell you that this feeling is far more realistic. Strong recommend here.
