Really great collection of games here. The writing was very engaging and clever, atmosphere was incredibly immersive and there's always something you'll want to go out of the way to just look at. The early games in the series can be a bit rough due to the camera controls (or lack thereof), and sometimes the exploration can be cut off by sudden chase scenes or teleportation of the player. That becomes far less of an issue as the series goes on, and the last 3-4 games are super impressive compared to the first few (though the first few are still great in their own rights). In terms of gameplay, you are mostly just walking and reading. Every once in awhile there is a chase scene, but several of them just intend for you to get caught anyway. There IS some variation later in the series, but don't expect too much in the ways of interaction. Overall, highly recommend. I'm writing this very shortly after finishing, so maybe my thoughts will change after I've sat on them for awhile, but for t...

User Reviews
You walk around as a pink and yellow cyclops creature and read. Creepy, but no real "boo!" sudden scares. Surreal, but with basically coherent stories(though the overarching plot is less so). There were funny jokes, just frequent enough to keep me playing but not enough to make me happy about it. I got the distinct impression there were a lot of references I was missing, and reading some of the other reviews seems to back that up. I'm pretty dumb about things that aren't video games; maybe it's aimed at a smarter class of player? Also the volume range is quite wide, I had to take my headphones off due to persistent very loud noises at a couple points.
I used my long, wet hands to play this game
Just finished chapter 6 and I got so impressed it prompted me to write this review. I love the way this game doesnt shy away of putting details that may seem weird, how its stories always seem to be a little bit nonesensical but on second playthrough suddenly make sense or take another meaning different than the obvious one, chapter 6 kind of blew my mind a little bit, its not extremely convoluted but it has the right amount of obscure details that make you feel clever once you redo the chapter and thread together all the details to get the full picture, it is refreshing to play a game that doesnt give you all the answers inmediately, it leaves room to the imagination and makes you wonder how this world works; why are there so many murders, whats the deal with the red guy, all of these loose details let me create a world in may head that is so much broader and greater, one that can only exist in the speculative mind. Right now its been 2 chapters since i havent seen ZZ, did she escape ...
One of my favorite games ever, the artstyle is AMAZING, the story is trippy and-.. wait... is there a story? Anyways, the characters are memorable and you'll be thinking of this game for a while after you've finished it. Just play this dude, trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.
Great game, with a very atmospheric environment and witty writing style that kept me engaged through every chapter. The tone shifts were on point, which allowed for good pacing and for the player not to be overwhelmed or desensitised. I was most surprised by the care put into the audio, through music and sound effects, which really brought the ambience together. The game really placed me in BB's 1D shoes and, intentionally so, at times made me feel vulnerable or lost. Goofy, scary, weird, playful, surreal, and thoughtful, I strongly recommend this game to anyone who wants to engage with a sort of spooky interactive zine. Conventional gameplay elements are minimal, although I did not find that this took away from the value of the experience. Drool was my favourite chapter; I could smell the chlorine through the screen and feel the wet carpet underneath my feet. My second favourite chapter was Hands, although I truly liked them all, and the last chapters do bring some refreshing ...
