Don't be put off by the title (it's not a festive season "money grab"), as it more than stands up year through. Essentially a good mazing title that keeps drawing me back, as past the initial level it can be a challenge. There are a number of towers where it is not obvious what they do, but you will find out when they unlock. Looking forward to progressing.

About This Game
Grupy the Grunchlin
"Christmas is coming" is a thought that Grupy often has. As a 600 year old grunchlin he is more than fed up with it. This year has slipped away and Christmas is only 12 days off. Grupy has spent the year practising his magic and inventing new defences but hasn't left enough time to build them. Help save Grupy from Christmas coming.
Survive against waves of Christmas themed decorations (mobs). The difficulty of waves increases as you progress. To survive you will need to build a maze of defences using the precious Trash you collect by destroying mobs. These defences could be elemental auto-turrets (towers), unlocked with Gems at Grupy's store, or path traps like Hot Spikes that will damage any mobs that move over them.
Improve your towers after each battle at Grupy's shop. Improve with Trash, Gems and Christmas Cards. These resources are collected during missions and will accumulate globally. Finishing each map economically is extremely beneficial as this will mean starting the next map with more resources. In addition, any extra trash you collect on a mission can later be used to modifiy the stats of your favorite towers. Towers can also be specialized with the Cards you find but will require Gems for Grupys magic to apply them.
Unlock a new tool after completing each of the campaign missions. The Rake tool can remove rough snow to make room for building more defences. The Pickaxe can mine through stone for lumps of Coal or the occasional Gem. You should be careful not to mine too greedily or Christmas might start coming early.
The pathing of mobs is directly controlled by where you choose to build your defences. Mobs can even be 'duped' by forcing them down a long path and then blocking the end. Doing so will cause mobs to backtrack and find an alternate route. You can not block every path to the castle however it is possible to block off an individal mob entirely although this could be costly.
Placing towers of the same type in a square will automatically resize the tower. The main benefit of larger towers is they are able to shoot further but they also gain increased projectile size, speed, and attack power. Larger towers are not always better though as they ocupy a large area and take significantly longer to reload. You will need to find a balance between range, firepower and rapid fire.
Placing towers of a different type in a square will create a Combo Wombo. This tower gains the ability to shoot any projectile type from the types that created it. In the above example the Combo Wombo has the probabilitys :
- 33.3% chance of firing Snow Baller projectile
- 33.3% chance of firing Jack Frost projectile
- 33.3% chance of firing Rudolph Reverse Nose projectile
Note: the surrounding towers are Wise Guys and make the Combo Wombo (or any projectile tower) reload faster, they have no effect on the probability of projectile spawned.
Map Editor
Create your own maps within the game. From the main menu you can open the editor. Choose where to place your castle, where and how many spawn points you want. Connect them together by using the brush tools. Add a background and foreground for decoration then save your map. Any maps you create can be played straight away by selecting "custom" at the main menu.
