About This Game

Antipsychotic is back on Steam

Antipsychotic is back on the Steam store with new updates. It now includes a new introduction sequence and a new area within its world. Antipsychotic now supports DLSS, which is activated via its in-game menu by pressing Escape. The game is now free for all to play in the hopes this experience will spread mental health awareness. If you already purchased Antipsychotic when it was 99¢ (USD), please contact me for a refund and I will happily oblige.

Enjoy this free & updated experience!

About the Game

Antipsychotic is an eccentric art game experience. It is not a traditional video game. This is a short, abstract art game about mental health. 10 - 15 minutes playtime, nonlinear free roam.

Dive into the mind of someone with bipolar disorder as they explore their condition. This immersive experience marries poetic reflections and personal narratives with captivating audio-reactive visuals and evocative soundscapes, set to the beat of poignant music.

Antipsychotic supports up to 7.1 surround sound (capable sound card required). Antipsychotic supports the Xbox controller with newly re-tooled haptic responses. Xbox controller does not work in the settings menu, only in game.

This is very polished and the sound design is clean, immersive, and really well done. I enjoyed the colorful visuals and the interactive nature of the installation. I am definitely excited to see more experimental games like this. If you like what you see, support the dev here by picking up the game or the soundtrack. https://youtu.be/PJPveMmZYqk

I'm not about to complain about a small experimental game being 'too short' when it's functionally more like buying a ticket to a virtual museum/art installation. Wanted to open with that since it's something people tend to be negative about for no reason, and I think even games I don't like deserve to be criticized fairly. With that in mind, let me critique the installation. It's a small grotto of neon plants and objects in the middle of a seemingly infinite black lake. If you stand in specific spots, you will either hear a looping music track or hear a spoken-word bit. Music tracks seem very deliberately placed to allow you to enjoy particular imagery while you listen, but the spoken-word parts are delivered through speaker-looking visualizers that stick out no matter where they're placed. There's also an alien tripod creature walking around for... reasons, and you can also walk through 5 columns of floating crystals that give you the ability to throw them? and when you've collec...

Weird little 'game'. It looks nice and that is about the only positive. I didn't get wiser and the game was over before it was really started (8 min where a bit part was waiting for the end credits). If it was free, I could have given it a thumbs up but not as it is now.

This game combines psychological concepts, detailed, psychedelic visuals, and ties it all together with intriguing music! I am extremely excited to see more games in this style. I also admire any game that delves into mental health and I am happy the developer was able to create something so inspiring and beautiful! Worth every penny.
