There's a lot of Rabi-Ribi DNA in here beyond a heavily inspired UI and powerups: the world is non-linear and loops around, it's bullet hell and there is much suffering to be had on Lunatic difficulty despite having fewer patterns, bosses have scaling progression, and 0% run is possible. However, Kokoro's Journey is more bite-sized, being roughly 1/4th the length of Rabi-Ribi. Even though there are many similarities, there are still noteworthy key differences, particularly in combat: [list] [*]The tutorial is much more pronounced. Whereas Rabi-Ribi just throws the player into bullet hell action and let them figure out hidden/unexplained gimmicks on their own, Kokoro's Journey outright explains the damage buff gimmick, has a game over tip for immunity to contact damage during melee, Focus Mode (slow walk + show Kokoro's hitbox) is openly shown in the control scheme, and an NPC explaining that magic can break certain walls and can be angled is introduced in the beginning. About This Game
It's a 2D exploration danmaku action game (AKA a danmaku Metroidvania).
You'll control Hata no Kokoro on a journey to find her masks.
Rather than clearing individual stages, you'll explore and find various items to power up along the way.
Four difficulties are provided, so you can have a good time if you're not skilled at danmaku action games.

It's a Rabi-Ribi inspired bite-sized adventure. Perfect length for a weekend game with some fun additional challenges for the brave. In my humble opinion, there's Noh way I can deny this was worth the money.
If I could give this game a neutral, I would. It certainly is far from broken but is very meh.
Can't really think of much to say. There's some rough edges here and there, but overall, I enjoyed this game a fair amount as a fan of bullet hell/danmaku Metroidvanias and would recommend it to anyone looking for a similar experience to Rabi-Ribi.
Its a short game that has a lot of Rabi-Ribi DNA built in.
I don't think I can add more to what the reviews here already said, so I'm gonna try to keep it short. The game is a Rabi-Ribi inspired Touhou fangame, with excellent level and boss design. Don't let the simplicity of the graphics fool you, the game was made with a lot of effort. You can see it in how much care there went to the mechanics of the game. A small example is how enemies don't deal contact damage if you melee them first, which is something that might seem small but does wonders for the flow of the battle. I think the game's ONLY disadvantage is that it's a bit short, but if you are one of those people that go for 100% completion, the in-game achievements will keep you busy for quite a while, probably for dozens of hours. Shoutouts to the game dev for making such an amazing game!
Tiny but fun game. Its very clearly inspired by Rabi-ribi, but thats not a bad thing. And you play as Kokoro, so thats a huge + for me.
It's fun.
