Roadmap

Hello everyone. It's us again, we're making this post so we can tell you guys how we plan to move forward with Thalamus, but first, we want to thank everyone who has supported us after the release. Whether you made a video, bought the game or just recommended it to a friend, from the bottom of our hearts we thank every single one of you. We weren't expecting the game to be as popular as it has become, and we hear your criticism about chapter 1. We are planning on fixing some issues that you all have pointed out, (such as the loud intro) as well as adding a few extra things so that players know why they are doing the things they do in chapter 1.

Once we do this we will put all our effort into chapter 2 and use it to clear up any questions that chapter 1 didn't answer (such as imperium and what it is). We also plan on there being more variation in what you will be doing, such as combat.

We don't have a release date for these updates yet but if you have any problems with thalamus then please let us know, whether it be on our discord or in the steam forums, we will read it and try to fix it.

About the Game

Thalamus Is a story based game that takes place in France. You play the role of an average employee who is a little too curious discovering how truly evil the company he works for is. Follow along each chapter as we unveil the story of Rayan.

The world

After humanity reaches the limits of silicon technology is stagnant and companies such as Argus Panoptes want to take every bit of information the average citizen has.

Stealth

Argus Panoptes is a secure company and doesn't want people fiddling with their stuff. Intense security measures have been put in to prevent this.
The robots are too dangerous to take on head first,so thats why youll have to sneak past them and pray they don't find you

The enemies

Failed surveillance robots don't just vanish, thousands are lying in Argus Panoptes sites all over the world, perfect for an army.

Argus Panoptes

A surveillance company trying to lobby governments is never a good idea, Argus Panoptes is no different. With over 30 sites all over the world there is no telling what they are capable of.

Thalamus

A cancelled project who was never turned off is the perfect cannatite for a villain. It will never stop until the people who abandoned it pay.

Imperium

A secret alloy capable of revolutionizing the world would never be made by the good guys. Capable of making a normal computer turn into a revenge hungry robot only top Argus Panoptes employees know it exists.

Thalamus is a horror puzzle game that has pure potential to become great but kinda falls short due to some flaws. The story of the game kinda feels way too vague and kinda confusing. the graphics are pretty good for a game this cheap. The puzzles are actually pretty good and fun to solve. Sometimes it was confusing to know where was I going but then I forgot to look at the diary and the diary actually tells you where to go. Just remember to use the diary when you are stuck. This game is overall pretty good for a small indie game and i rate it a 8/10.

Apart from a few bugs here and there (which the team will probably fix soon anyways), the game overall is pretty good. Actually managed to scare me at one point. While only Chapter 1 has released so far, more will come in free updates, so the price is definitely worth it.

Ambitious, but, for me, it missed the mark.

Looks great, run smoothly, and the story seems like it could end up being pretty interesting. Not totally sure, though, as this is just chapter 1 of 5. There's no combat to speak of, but a couple of the platforming sections provide some challenge. Give it a shot! Here's my co-commentary playthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEFUfmokZJE
