Graphics don't make a good game people, and this is yet another perfect example of that. "Quest for Cathrinite" is an insult and a slap in the face to Katherines and Kathy's the world over. This game is a lazy, boring, and un-inspired lowest common denominator for action RPG games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leowG5WChCk No open world.. instead we get the same 45 second cave over and over and over and over.. until you beat the game at level 20 where you can mine the exciting "cathrinite ore" - Oh Boy! ...I highly doubt that anyone will want to invest that much time into this bore-fest of a game, just sayin' No Quests. No character stats. No Classes to choose from. No character appearance options. No NPCs. No Good Combat (Even tho the store pages says below that it has exciting "Souls" like combat.. .....to the developer.. Your game here is no Dark Souls. This game isn't even as good as a "bug" in Dark Souls. and mainly people... the reason this game gets the low score o...

User Reviews
P.S: Left some quick tips at the bottom if you're just looking for some help! I've never written a review on steam but I felt compelled to write one for this game because I saw this game was only reviewed by a first 15 minute youtuber and it deserves some justice. I want to start out by pointing out that it looks like this game was developed by a single person and so I will take that into account throughout my review. A "dark souls"-esque game where you are a dwarf venturing deep into a cavern straight out of a fantasy book. The game revolves around you discovering ore and crafting stronger and stronger weapons as you delve deeper into the mine. As you progress through the mine you also discover various Runes which provide some passive bonuses to help smooth the difficulty; the rune that stood out the most to me was the rune of healing which boils down to "after you deal x damage you get healed for x". Simple mechanic but really enables a more aggressive and fast paced playstyle. ...
The game is straightforward, with a classic dungeon slasher style feel to it. It is not over the top and has an easy to understand combat system. A clean and easy-to-use crafting system for weapons. The player character model is nice and the variety of enemies each have their own recognizable features and abilities. Fun game, good value for price. Love it so far! A great indy that I recommend.
Bland, boring, all levels look the same thanks to same rooms repeated at nauseam. Somewhere around level 7 the game becomes slog even on normal. Around level 13 the game becomes pretty much unplayable due to amount of enemies with ranged attacks and rooms with respawn. Developers, stop creating bad parodies of my favourite souls-like genre and start to test your games properly (meaning play your own games from start to end on normal difficulty before asking for our money). Players, stop recommending games without beating them. EDIT: I'm at the beginning of level 15 on normal and it's already one of the most frustrating gaming experience in last couple of years. Good work. EDIT 2: Finished the game on easy (level 15 is the last despite the game claims that there are 20 levels). One of the most frustrating and badly design games in last couple of years indeed. 1/10
Souls-like combat in a series of samey-looking caves. There are some EXTREMELY-light crafting mechanics. The combat feels very slow and clunky. The ragdolling looks cool but it doesn't make up for the shortfalls for me. I wish I could give this a thumb sideways but since I can't, I guess I'll upvote it. https://youtu.be/MxoKj3PndvM
