Well, this one's hard to review. The game is buggy. The translation is clearly unfinished. I've had to restart the game at least 3 times to finish my initial playthrough. I had to *stop* playing because there was a CTD on a major boss. I honestly think the game is partially unfinished, because I can see UI elements out of screen, there's a lot of sound effects missing, and between my initial start and me finishing the game, I noticed the dev's added in some missing stuff in the patches. So, why, despite that, do I recommend it? It is probably the only RPG I played in the last year to consistently keep me engaged throughout the entire game. I haven't done all of the variations in the story, but supposedly there's a decent amount of variation between each playthrough. I outright didn't meet one of the party members in my playthrough, so I can confirm that much is true. I love the setting and general writing. The gameplay is pretty good: the emotion system actually has effects (unlike...

CESSPOOL is a nice little indie RPG with decent graphics, a brilliant soundtrack, and a simple-yet-fun battle. I've had a great time going through this game so far even after multiple playthroughs, as my hours spent on it will attest, and I'd happily recommend it to those looking for something just a little bit different. The game's battle system is very much reminiscent of various Mario RPGs, yet still manages to feel like its own thing as well. Characters take part in turn-based battles, with timed button presses serving to bolster the power of the party's moves. Enemy attacks can also be reacted to and avoided...which is kinda necessary, since party members generally go down after just a handful of player mistakes. The game also provides plentiful access to healing items, however, so the difficulty is fairly forgiving overall. The plot of the game is simple enough, following a collection of travellers through a post-apocalyptic kingdom, though the less-than-stellar English transla...
This game is a horribly buggy mess. Also you must speak French to understand what's happening even if you're playing the English version because the translation is incomplete. There's a lot of promise in this game, and if some issues get resolved it could be a spiritual successor to the Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga game franchise.
It's a cool game, it has interesting pixel art effect.
OK this is a cool game with a good sound track an fun battle sytem plenty of replay-abilty with secret routes and alternet endings. its short and sweet but it does have its problems most of the party members ultimate skils are kind of useless one of the party members ultimates dosn't work on bosses and you will only be getting your ultimate during boss fights only 2 party members have a useful ultimate one being a full party heal and the other being the only damgeing ultimate. some party members didn't get much time to do anything one of the party members doesn't really do anthing story wise and they just stand there in most cutscene occainley saying somthing they only do anything importent at the bad ending and at the end of the games second act.the battle sytem is great using mini games to do special skils and you need to time your baisic attacks you can block/dodge attacks with reaction pressing the listed direction as fast as you can over all 9/10 game would recamend
It's a no for now at least. The game simply isn't finished yet. The bones of this game are very promising, I love the environmental design and the combat mechanics, and the story is intriguing, despite the sometimes wonky or just unfinished translation. There's also still a fair amount of bugs, including a few softlocks where I had to force quit and restart from my last save. I'd really like to see this game polished a little more and take another run at it, I just think it needs a bit more time in the oven.
This game has so much potential, but as it stands at the time of writing this review I feel that the game is unfinished due to the poor english translation and the buggy state that it is in. it gives me hope that it will eventually be a very solid game because it looks like the developers are releasing a new update fixing problems almost every week.
I can't believe I'm like, review 7 of this game, because legitimately this indie RPG is a banger. You might be reading this review because you're curious about the game but you need a little info on it. Here's some quick points: - This is a 5-6 hour indie RPG... on the first play through. 1 play through is fine to get a whole and complete experience - that's what I did - but as I understand from the Discussion boards, there's other multiple "routes" you can do which vary things in the game pretty drastically. - Combat is turn based with timing elements, and it works very well. There's a lot of variety and clever mechanics involved without getting super complicated. The shorter runtime for an RPG means it stays fresh and fun the whole way through IMO. - At least at the time of writing, the games translation is rough. It brings to mind early JRPG era English translations, but for me that's kind of a good thing? It makes the game feel more... different. It gives the game an added layer o...
This game, for the price, is a hidden gem. Good music, extremely fun mechanics, and an interesting setting. Being honest, the art can be a little bit rough at times, and the English translation is... frankly almost unreadable. HOWEVER, the team is already working on a new translation and constantly patching out bugs, you can tell that the creators are passionate and dedicated to rectifying any issues and for that I applaud them. I'm looking forward to starting a new save when the new translation is done, but what I played was extremely fun.
