About This Game

Dark Sales is a 2D action RPG that takes place in a modern office setting. It was built from the ground up by a single developer over the span of 2 years.

Welcome to Nardrol, a dark world run by cruel supervisors and ruthless bosses. Lower level employees are treated like dirt to be trodden upon and the tyranny of the elite reigns supreme.

Prophecy tells of a Chosen Salesman which will bring an end to the endless cycle of pain and seemingly random firings which plagues the land. Your time has come to bring truth to the legend. Enter Dark Sales.

FULL DISCLOSURE - There is a very elusive bug we've been trying to find and fix which causes the player to roll endlessly. We have been so far unable to reproduce the bug ourselves but a small number of players have reported the issue. If you encounter the bug simply exit the game through the menu and reload it and it will be fixed with no loss of progress. If you do happen across this bug please let us know via our contact email [email protected] with any details you can give. Thank you!

Am I going to sit here and tell you this game wasn't made with love? No. Am I going to sit here and tell you this game is good? No, Got bored after about an hour. It felt like a flash game from the mid 2000s.

Dark Sales is a game that someone told me to buy on facebook. So far: too much dark and not enough sales. I'm willing to amend my review when I am deeper into the game but for now that is my stance.

Taking heavy inspiration from it’s tongue in cheek name, Dark Sales is a 2D Souls-like game with charmingly simple visuals and strikingly challenging gameplay. Taking place in an office setting with most enemies being other employees the game is satisfyingly solid. We spent a few hours with the game and here are our spoiler-free first impressions. How does it look?: The game is highly stylized with simplistic but very effective visuals. We initially had some difficulty discerning what we could and couldn’t interact with in the relatively open world but the game’s consistency and informative tutorial set us up for success in the long run. Whether you’re resting at water coolers, fighting pencil pushers, or exploring a sewer you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the look of Dark Sales. How does it feel? Dark Sales has very solid controls. We tried the game with both a keyboard and a controller, we found the latter much more enjoyable while the game was still perfectly playable u...

As a Souls fan this game is plenty of fun with many call-outs to the original games. The game is full of character with plenty of pop culture references and office humor. But, you could likely derive that from the trailer. My first impressions: Importantly it feels like a souls/metroidvania style game with the humor of any good parody game, with a reference to south park in the initial disclaimer of the game, followed by a familiar start screen, you know just what you are in for right away. The controls were easy to pickup as they are extremely similar to any souls game. Combat feels tight, optional areas and platforming can be difficult but rewarding, the dialogue and flavor text is silly, and worth noting the music is solid all around helping boss battles feel intense. What has sold me so far is the pacing, every boss slain or upgrade to my character is met with more difficult enemies and environments to match, making the game feel both empowering and challenging. Looking forwar...

fun little game, heavily dark souls inspired. i recommend, especially for the cheap price. the dev(s?) had fun making it and the sense of humor is all throughout the game.

Yes, like many others have stated here... The game is glitchy, and even a tad bit repetitive, but what it lacks in presentation it makes up for in rewarding exploration and Dark Souls esque mechanics. Essentially the game is a love letter to Office Space and Dark Souls. Both things I love and appreciate. So, the game was very charming and fun for me. It gets a little old bashing the punch button over and over and the bosses are fairly easy so far. None of the enemies require much more thought than; block, punch, punch, block, punch, jump over head, block. punch. It's a simple game and it's creator adores Dark Souls. I got the game on sale for like 8 bucks and for that price I would say it's a fun enough time waster.

Flashes WAY too much and the tutorial is awful. Needs polishing in general and confirmation on when selecting things such as difficulty and more.
