A charming main character, solid art design, and outstanding optimization make this a Mario-like worthy of your attention; especially if you're looking for a platformer that doesn't prioritize difficulty. Personally I really appreciate games that aim for a level of difficulty similar to the classics, rather than seeking to challenge people who grew up with them. I'm not better at Mario than I was 25 years ago, and I appreciate Ayo not asking me to be. This was a Kickstarter project I backed and I'm happy with the final product, although sadly it seems not to have done well commercially. One minor disappointment is that the Mac version isn't stable and will crash at random, at least on Apple Silicon. It's a shame because otherwise the game doesn't even get my Macbook Air warm.
