Deathbulge is AWESOME in just about every way. I've never seen a battle system like this one, and it manages to hit all the right notes. The characters have personality, and I mean EVERY character, from your excellent party members down to the most random NPC. The game's art and music are phenomenal, and the attitude carried throughout is great too - there's something truly amazing about kicking every door you can find off of its hinges, and the game manages to carry that hilarity throughout. The story is also a great blend of silly and dark that you can't help but love. About the only issue I can call out is that there's a bit of backtracking involved with dealing with all of the sidequests, and there's a tedious section in the middle where you have to clear out a bunch of enemies. But these are pretty minor gripes in the face of the rest of the game's strengths. You play as Faye, Ian and Briff, a 3-piece band of dysfunctional friends who unknowingly stumble into a cursed battle of the bands contest, where all entrants can attack with music and must fight to the death.
Kick down every single door you come across. If you're gonna rudely enter every RPG house despite lack of invite, might as well enter in style.
Customise the band with 9 musically-themed classes to choose from, each with their own attacks, perks and COOL OUTFIT. Inspire your bandmates as a BUSKER or recklessly deal huge damage at the cost of damaging yourself as a HEADBANGER.

Fun music-based RPG with a fair amount of content and wacky ideas. A bit grindy/repetitive (collecting all beats) at times, but overall diverse in stuff to the point where I had fun the majority of time played. I'm not sure if there are many references to the "Deathbulge" comics, but I don't really see any correlations from what I've seen in both (outside the art style, of course). Anyway, very neat game!
Was keeping an eye out for this game for such a long time, and I'm finally happy to have tried it out! Once I bought it I was instantly hooked- from the animation, character designs, to the story and humor, everything is wonderful! The gameplay's very fun too, with lots of room for creativity and experimentation, from the wide array of skills to the patches you can use on characters to raise stats and apply additional effects. Would 100% recommend it to anyone that just wants to have fun
