About This Game

You are the elusive hacker, edie88, and your job is to bring down the corrupt owner of Waylife Bank by guiding your trusty partner in anti-crime, Bit, into the mainframe of a 1988 bank's computer system and revealing the fraudulent transactions of CEO Peter Mohw.

Power your way through 11 computer systems, totaling 88 levels of increasing difficulty and speed. Swing from point to point, revealing the data in the code and avoiding the anti-invasion programs, ranging from simple electrified walls to vicious spider-like assailants. Fire your pulse shot to destroy them, or to reveal the hidden lights for a moment to aide you in your quest.

The better you perform in each system, the more upgrades you earn, not only to spruce up Bit with new colors, but gain useful improvements to your abilities.

The three-button control scheme seems simple at first, but may prove a greater challenge than you expected.

Features:
- Difficult controls that are rewarding to master
- 88 Levels of varying difficulty
- Several upgrades, both colorful and mechanical
- Fun patterns and intense challenge levels
- Obstacles and enemies of all sorts
- Engaging story

First 30 minute review! As the title stated I played this game for a good 30 minutes to get a basic idea of the game so I could write this review, so bare with me. The game is made by a fellow named Ronnie Filyaw, a comic artist, game designer, and all around nice individual with a love for anime and all things the world sees as nerdy. I originally only heard about this game through his longest running webcomic WHOMP (which isn't half bad if I say so my self) which he used to advertise this game through breaking the main characters arm just to give you an idea of the comedy. After reading the comic of the day I simply had to try his new game. While this isn't Ronnie's first run making a video game, it is the first iv'e known of that he has sold on steam. Does this change the quality, or does it just give it a little more bit more heart, i'm here to find out. When I booted up the game I was introduced to a story about a young girl whos life has been ruined by a greedy individual who...

So, I've just started playing hack.88, and already I'm kind of hooked. The control scheme is simple - you constantly move forward, and turn by extending a grabber to the left or right with your mouse buttons. Grab a node, and you swing around it until you let go in another direction, or the same direction if you were just trying to stop yourself from hitting an enemy. The object, similarly, is simple. Pass over the hidden lines in a level to reveal a secret pattern, the quicker the better. In a lot of ways, hack.88 feels like it could have been a game from the glory days of the 8-bit processor. Levels feel organic and easy to slip into, the game is very easy to pick up and play, and just tricky enough to really get a mastery of. Kudos to Filyaw, this one's a keeper. Pros: +Controls feel great. +Wonderful level design. +Great art. Cons: -Music is kind of 'meh', I guess? It's not bad, just doesn't add much to the game. -...that's really all I've got. Bottom line: A worthy splu...

This is a fun and simple game which keeps you coming back for more. I would have appreciated a small tutorial but the controls and the goals are fairly intuitive, and the design is gorgeous. Above all, a lot of fun. Would recommend.

There are many types of games. This one is of the category "time waster". The controls are awful. The gameplay is mediocre. So then why a yes? Because it's unique. Honestly, there are tons of low-effort puzzle games out there, so I would rather buy one that is different than the rest. Honestly, though.... just FYI, Ronnie, I loved your work more when you wrote the Whomp Comics. They were dark, but they were hilarious.

Its very simple, palyed it while watching esports tournaments. and chatting with people. I RQ at the last last level of the 1st system (world) and only picked up this game again months after and basicly run through it and it was a blast with a great ending that does gain value if you're a WhompComic.com reader (you should).
